Jan read a thank you letter from Dick Olsen of the Elcho Trap Club for the donation.
Membership report was given by Arlen Panko. Currently we have 77 paid members and 8 associate members. Discussion was held on what to do about those who have not yet renewed their membership. Arlen will send a reminder.
Pat Girtz gave a final report on the May ATV Safety Class. We certified a class of 42 students (27 males, 15 females) with ages ranging from 10 to 54. 86% of the class scored from 100% to 88% correct on the test. We served students from 14 different counties (12 WI counties, 1 IL county and 1 MN county). This 8 hour class (Sat. & Sun.) had 64 volunteer instructor hours plus 44 volunteer helper hours (108 hours) not including any hours (ie. baking, preparation, etc.) done prior to the class. Pat also reported students received a brochure from the State of WI, Dept. of Tourism on ATV trails in WI, a gift from Fleet Farm of a finger tip LED light, a 2009 map of Langlade Co. trails from the club, and a reflective sticker for their helmet from the DNR. Pat has sent thank you notes to the Tombstone-Pickerel Snow-mobile Club for use of the building, Motor Sport Marine and Dean Dutzle for furnishing the ATV's and UTV, and Jim and Phyllis Huss for use of their land for the hands-on riding test. She thanked Hummer for the water donation and thanked all those who baked (including Dan). She gave a huge thank you to the instructors, Harlen Girtz, Harlan and Connie Fink, Jerry Mijal, Garth Luebke, Paul Immel, Mary Ann Wierschke and Bud Bradford and Joe Manago from Parrish, and the excellent helpers, Keith and Lynn Ver Hagen, Sherry Mijal, Katie Wierschke, Sheila Yeager, Sue Blevons, Dave Bubb and Debbie Theide. Also anyone she may have missed. This class could not have happened without them. A job well done by all. Registrations of $ 420.00 ($10.00 x 42) were required by the DNR to be collected and 50% ($210.00) was required to be turned over to them. Pat submitted a bill for about $56.00 for treats and drinks purchased. Pat also informed the meeting that all instructors will now need some form of continuing education by Jan. of 2013. Dan Wierschke stated the opinion of some of the instructors that we should make it mandatory that at least one parent attend these classes for any student 16 or younger so the parents also understand the laws.
The “5 th anniversary” committee met before the meeting and Sheila spoke for the group stating:

ATV's have been riding off the trail and on Dick and Mary Guenther's hay field. Lil' Hummer has had Tjs Customs make four signs saying “STAY ON TRAIL OR OWNER WILL CLOSE”, and Harlen has put them up. REMEMBER ATV'ERS! RIDING IS A PRIVILEGE, NOT A RIGHT! STAY ON THE TRAIL! IT IS NOT A RECOMMENDATION! IT IS REQUIRED! Thanks to Hummer for the donation of the signs. Also, a caution to those doing doughnuts on Lost Lake Road and the trails around there. STOP THE HOTDOGGING AND THE DOUGHNUTS OR THE TOWNSHIP WILL CLOSE THESE TOWN ROADS!
If you are the ones doing this, STOP IT! If you see it, REPORT IT! THIS CAN NOT CONTINUE!
Damage to the town roads and trails will not be tolerated!
Discussion was held on the bill from Langlade County Highway Dept. for Hwy. K at Post Lake. Total bill was $627.00 minus $42.75 in our escrow account leaving a balance due of $584.25. $200.00 has already been paid, leaving a balance of $384.25 yet to be paid. Motion made by Harlen G., seconded by Hummer, to send a check for $384.25. All in favor. Motion carried. This will leave our escrow account at $200.00.
Troy from Tjs Customs has been working on a club patch. Being unable to find a suitable ATV image, he took pictures of an ATV parked along the Wolf River at the “A” bridge and made a patch demo for approval at the meeting. He estimates that in lots of 250 he can produce this patch for between $ 0.17 and $ 0.25. Motion made by Jan F., seconded by Harlen G., to give Pat permission to order 250 patches at an estimated price of approximately $62.00 with the following recommendations:
Add “est. 2005” or “est. “05.
Make ATV smaller.
Make graphics larger and possibly change the location of the graphics
ie. Wolf River Riders on top; ATV Club in the middle; Pearson-Pickerel on the bottom
All in favor. Motion carried. Motion made by Harlen G., seconded by Dan W., to include one patch with each single membership and associate membership and two patches with each family membership. All in favor. Motion carried.
Discussion was held on how to thank those who volunteer so many hours to the club including the trail clean-up workers. Motion made by Hummer, seconded by Glenn Y., to have a small feed for the group at Lil' Hummers' after the spring clean-up next year at club expense. All in favor. Motion carried.
Motion was made by Jan F., seconded by Judy P. to adjourn. All in favor. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 9:50 A.M.
Respectively submitted,
Pat Girtz, Acting secretary
